Empire
Swimming is pleased to announce the hiring of Andrew Digiacomo
as lead coach of our XCel group! Andrew brings many years of
competitive swimming to this position, and is eager to begin
working with our Empire athletes under Brian's daily guidance at
Manhattanville.
Andrew is a recent graduate of Florida Atlantic University,
where he was a 4-year member of their Division I Swimming &
Diving team, competing as a butterflier / freestyler. At FAU,
Andrew was a multiple-time Sun Belt conference championship
finalist. Andrew grew up in New Jersey and competed for many
years as a member of the Lakeland Hills and Elite swim clubs.
He has been a coach in a New Jersey summer swim league, where he
worked for the Glacier Hills pool, helping to teach and coach
swimmers of all ages and abilities. Andrew was recently named
Assistant Coach at Pace University, where he will assist Bill
with Pace's daily workouts, administration and recruiting.
During the day, Andrew will be working as a recruiter for the
Art Institute of New York City, visiting local high schools to
give presentations and provide students information about the
Institute.
Andrew's experience, passion, knowledge of the sport and
understanding of senior level swimming will be an asset to the
Xcel program. We're excited to have him on board!
