Shane McNamara Named to National Junior Team

Congratulations to Shane McNamara on being named to the 2014-2015 USA Swimming Mens National Junior Team! This team is comprised of athletes 18 & under with the top six fastest times in the country, in Olympic events only, from the combined results of all USA Swimming or FINA sanctioned meets from 1/1/2014 to 9/1/2014.  Shane's 200 breaststroke qualified as the second fastest 18 & under time in the country!  Shane was also selected to represent USA Swimming as a member of  the 2014 Junior Pan Pacific Championship Team, but was unable to attend due to commitments at Harvard University.

Congratulations to Empire's 2013-2014 Scholastic All-American Athletes!

Each year, USA Swimming recognizes its members who excel both in the classroom and in the pool. The Scholastic All-America Team is made up of high school student-athletes who have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and who have achieved the required time standard in a single event. To be eligible for this recognition, swimmers must have completed 10th, 11th or 12th grade and must be a USA Swimming member athlete. This year, only 1,782 student-athletes in United States Swimming made the grade, and we are proud to say that five of our athletes are among them. Congratulations on your hard work that clearly pays off in and out of the pool - you make us proud!
