Here is a "heads up" on the Summer practice schedule that will begin Monday, June 25th and continue through Friday, July 27th:

Xtreme and Xcel Teams

6:30 - 8:30 AM, Monday through Saturday

Saxon Woods Pool

Lightning and Rocket Teams

8:15 - 9:45 AM, Monday through Friday

The Hackley School Pool

Lifeguard and CPR Recertification Class in May

We will be offering the following American Red Cross Recertification Classes this month: Lifeguard Training

Lifeguarding Challenge Tuesday, May 29th 4:00 PM to Completion
CPR Review Wednesday, May 30th 4:00 PM - 9:00 PM

EMPIRE WINS SUNKISSED INVITATIONAL!

For the fifth consecutive year, Empire Swim Team has won the Sunkissed Invitational Jr/Sr Championship Swim Meet in Charlotte North Carolina! Over the course of the four day meet, Empire swimmers set one meet record, ten team records, and far too many personal best times to count!! Congratulations to all of our athletes on your hard work and great performances!!

Individual team records were set by: Bebe Thompson in the 13-14 200 Fly (2:10.37) and the 200 IM (2:10.05, Shane McNamara in the Open 100 Breast (57.00) and 200 Breast (2:03.85), Liam Bogart in the 11-12 200 Back (2:12.84), Andrew Babyak in the 11-12 200 Fly (2:24.93), and Erik Bostrom in the 13-14 1000 Free (9:57.48).

The Empire women's 13-14 400 Free Relay of Bebe Thompson, Sarah Schlesinger, Kasia Malendowicz, and Marissa Thompson broke the Sunkissed Meet and Empire Team records with their time of 3:37.69. Other Empire team relay records were set in the 13-14 Men's 400 Medley Relay (4:32.24) by Liam Bogart, Solomon Thompson, Andrew Babyak, and Nico Ferrara and in the Open Men's 200 Free Relay (1:25.64) by JT Nangle, Shane McNamara, Michael Lu, and Darin Gillenwater.

RECORDS FALL AT METRO JOs!

Bridget Semenuk took home the 9/10 Girls High Point Trophy at the Metropolitan Junior Olympic Championships this weekend, setting five team records in the process! Bridget set new girls 9/10 team records in the 200 freestyle (2:07.79), the 50 freestyle (27.22), the 100 breast (1:19.67), the 50 breast (35.96) and the 50 fly (29.76).

Jared Copeland broke the 9/10 boys 100 butterfly that he previously owned by swimming a 1:10.49 at JOs, and also set a new team record in the 9/10 50 fly with a 30.75. Jared was also part of two record-setting boys relays!

The boys 9/10 200 free relay of Abhi Kumar, Jared Copeland, Garrett Kiesel, and Thomas Sasso set a new team record of 2:00.44, and the boys 9/10 200 medley relay of Garrett Kiesel, Deniz Atay, Jared Copeland, and Thomas Sasso set a new team record at 2:16.11.
